OM5 optical fiber is the current new-generation 50/125μm graded-index multimode fiber, with a core diameter of 50μm and a cladding diameter of 125μm. On the basis of OM4, OM5 fiber adds the requirement for EMB (Effective Modal Bandwidth) at the wavelength of 953nm. It is an industry-wide broadband multimode fiber (WBMMF), supporting 400G SWDM (wavelength division multiplexing, four wavelengths: 850nm, 880nm, 910nm, 940nm) with a transmission distance of up to 150 meters.
